Pakatakan Mountain Guest House Customer Comments for 2009/10
We came for a weekend and it was a perfect retreat from Manhattan. The kitchen had everything we could need to make home cooked meals. And the living room was a great retreat after dinner with a bottle of wine, a fire and movie from your library. We poked around Arkville, Margaretville and the local scene during the days. People were friendly and willing to offer advice on what to do in town. We had long chats with store owners about their travels and experiences. This is why New Yorkers love getting away to places like the Catskill region. The pace is slower, the people are different, and the stars shine bright at night. Maria

A wonderful clean, quiet place in the country. All the amenities for a comfortable stay. I love cooking in the large kitchen and the warmth of the wood stove. We have had some bad experiences with rentals, but we would love to come back here again for ski rentals.

Coming from Denmark, we really enjoyed the colors of Autumn: The leaves, the fresh crisp air, and the walking of the hills was something we did not expect. We had a tremedous weekend with hiking and in-door activities, for which your guest house was

" This was a perfect weekend ! " is a phrase we said more than once. From the beautiful weather and the lively town center, - to the vast countryside with pool holes and hiking trails- this is a weekend we'll never forget. Your lovely guest home and warm amenities helped us create elaborate meals in a clean , comfortable space. We will definitely return - hopefully to close out our summer -but most of all we have already spread the word, that Pakatakan is pretty damn cool. Thanks !

My family and I had a wonderful time staying in this cozy hideaway. The house was so clean and equipped with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We came back to the house after long hours of skiing to sit in front of the fire with hot cocoa as we watched some of your movies. This was so much better than staying at a hotel !!! We had a wonderful New Years at the Guest House ! The wood burning stove was much enjoyed by all. Went for a walk and marveled at the peace and quiet. Lots of different animal tracks, it was fun to try to identify them. Went night snow tubing at Plattekill, what fun!! We really appreciate the simple and comfortable decor and amenities of the house. You have such an amazing place, from the smallest place in your house to the beautiful outdoors, this place embraces relaxation, quietness and peace , which is exactly what we were looking for.
